Bike Doctor Frederick
Bike Doctor Frederick is the eighth Bike Doctor franchise. Opened in 2006, it grew dramatically in spite of the Great Recession. The retail space was expanded 50% in 2012 and offers a wide range of road, mountain, triathlon, kids, women’s-specific, comfort, and hybrid bicycles. The store employees lead weekly bike rides for all abilities. The company is active in the community taking a leading role in the Frederick Bicycle Coalition, which works with the mayor and city council to make Frederick, Maryland a bike-friendly city. The store itself utilizes reclaimed building materials for most of the retail displays and was built by the staff.

Spring Break Direct
Established in 1999, this company specializes in travel packages for college students during their annual March spring break. In its first 10 years, Spring Break Direct transitioned from a call center sales model to a primarily web-based business. It currently utilizes complex proprietary web software that links to a global distribution system (GDS) to pair open market airfare with in-house hotel inventory. Spring Break Direct offers on-site representation at select destinations to assist travelers with any on-site issues or needs.
